Computing technology is all around us in our everyday lives. If you are looking for a highly practical course in computer applications, then this is for you. This course will introduce you to key concepts of ICT theory, and the use of computer applications in business today.

You will acquire important competences in operating office applications and recognising common ICT hardware, software and network topologies. The course will highlight important issues associated with ICT such as legal, health and security issues.

Module Learning Outcomes

This ICT course gives you the knowledge of common computer applications and enable you to develop skills in spreadsheet, database and graphics applications.

On successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate practical use of file and information management and navigation as well as the credibility of sources
  • Create professional business documents, spreadsheets and databases
  • Identify different computer technology systems and platforms and how they can be used to achieve specific business goals and create value for a business as well as the challenges of cyber threats
  • Produce presentations using a range of features including visuals that aid communication and decision making as well as define business goals
  • Review similarities and differences in the etiquette and ethics of how technology is used across cultures

    Dedicated employability skills workshops will be a central part of this programme. These will help and support learners in developing important employability skills and improved awareness of, and access to, available opportunities in the job market. These will be delivered with HR specialists from CV Upgrade who are at the cutting-edge of career coaching and mentoring. The workshops will focus on three different areas of employability:
